What is Life Alaska’s Family Services Program?

The death of a loved one is a traumatic and painful experience. Life Alaska’s Family Services Program offers you emotional support and compassionate care as you begin your journey through grief. The Family Services Program provides bereavement support for one year to all families who wish to participate and includes bereavement literature selected for your family’s unique needs, a keepsake portfolio, personal contact through telephone calls and letters, a list of community support groups and bereavement professionals, if desired, as well as online resources. Also included are the Gift of Life Donor Medal offer, the Surgeon General’s Certificate of Appreciation, an invitation to participate in creating a memorial quilt square and the annual Donation Celebration. As the first year nears an end, you can determine if you wish to extend your bereavement support.
